Seaview
Marriott Resort Pines Course is one half of a pair of courses that define New Jersey golf. Located only 10 minutes from Atlantic City, these courses offer beautiful surroundings, challenging playability and a truly wonderful experience.
The 18-hole, par 71 Pines Course offers a traditional American layout. It was designed by Howard Toomey and William Flynn, creating a sensational experience for golfers since its opening in 1929. The only major change has been the switch to Bent grass fairways and Kentucky Bluegrass in a 20-foot strip down the sides of each fairway as the primary rough. The new grass is intended to leave course conditions less susceptible to disease and extreme weather.
The numbers tell you that the Pines Course plays 6,211 yards from the white tees, 6,731 yards from the blue and 5,276 yards from the red. Narrow fairways lined with thick rows of trees, well-protected landing areas and fast greens characterize this more difficult of two courses at the Seaview Marriott Resort.
Among the praises the
Seaview Mariott Resort's Pines course has earned: "4 Stars" for both courses in Golf Digest’s
"Places to Play;" a "Silver
Medal" for the third time in Golf Magazine; "Top 100
Women-Friendly Courses in North America" for the fourth straight year in
Golf For Women Magazine; "Top 20 Golf Resorts in the World"
by Vacations Ownership T&L Golf Magazine; and ranked third on T&L Golf
Magazine’s list of "World’s Best Golf Resorts in the Midwest,
Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic." Also located on the resort are the Faldo
Golf Institute and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa.
After more than half a century, the layout stands the test of time and still provides a significant test to modern golfers.
